The Story Begins
Our love story began in the midst of COVID—what better time for something unexpected? He wasn’t just her brother’s best friend from college; he was also a friend of the family, spending countless hours with us during lockdown. Somewhere between game nights, long conversations, and endless takeout, friendship turned into something more. And (eventually), she let him win her over. To the shock of everyone, here we are!
On a beach in Maui, Jenni had no idea what was about to happen. At dusk, during their second trip to the island, before dinner one night, Michael led her down the beach to a beautifully arranged spot—a heart in the sand, champagne waiting, and a hidden photographer ready to capture the moment. Standing in the center, he got down on one knee and asked the question. She said yes.
Looking back, it’s surreal to realize that he proposed that evening—because the very next day, the Lahaina fires devastated the island, throwing a wrench into what was meant to be a trip to celebrate their engagement. In the aftermath, they spent the remainder of the week without electricity or cell service, an unexpected test that only reinforced what they already knew: together, they can make it through anything.
The last year and a half has been nothing short of a whirlwind. We took the leap and became proud (and sometimes exhausted) parents to our two chaotic, but undeniably lovable, dogs, Maverick and Ace. Along the way, we’ve grown individually and as a couple, learning new things about each other every day—both the small details and the big moments that make us who we are.
Through the ups and downs, we’ve navigated life as a team, supporting one another through challenges and celebrating our victories together. We’ve shared laughter, created countless memories, and, most importantly, we’ve proven, without a doubt, that we are soulmates.
Our bond has only deepened, and with every passing day, we’ve become more excited for what lies ahead. Together, we know we can face anything life throws our way—and we can’t wait to spend forever doing just that.
